For centuries, the rugged terrain of Vietnam’s northern frontier kept communities separated from the outside world. In these remote valleys and stone villages, ethnic groups such as the Hmong, Tay, Dao, and Lo Lo preserved their own languages, traditions, architecture, craftsmanship, and ways of life. Today, Ha Giang remains one of the few places where culture is not confined to museums or performances. It is woven into everyday life, from the markets and family meals to the homes, festivals, and stories passed down through generations.
